Noun in French has feminine and masculine case

At the beginning of studying French, we need to understand there are feminine and masculine nouns in French. I just want to say why? So complicated that my motivation is flying away. Anyway, since there comes no change to learners' duty even if I complained much, we remember gender of each word.

In French dictionary, each item tells the word is feminine or masculine. It is not difficult to understand the sex of word. Below are examples.

masculine   père - father / garçon - son, boy / soleil - sun / livre - book
feminine    mère -mother / fille - daughter, girl / lune - moon / maison - house

both sexual noun  étudiant - masculine / étudiqnte - feminine

Oh, jeez. I found, no, remembered there are words with masculine and female case.

French has a plenty of rules. But it means if I memorise those, there are not so much exception, I suppose. The first step was really tough though interesting as well.
